Some conversations I suggest we have to set this up:
1. What are our goals? Do we want to limit ourselves to certain areas of research or not?
2. What are the roles and responsibilities of different people in this group?
3. How do we want to build our reputation in the blogging/intellectual/media/political world?
4. I suggest we start off with one project, following through to a paper and then redesign our structure to improve any problems. Yes? No?

I think what you're describing is in that vein -- except you're interested in getting grassroots participation from the college age and twentysomething crowd?
